I’m on a mission to go global with SKINNYFATTIES, my custom tailored neckties that also benefit low-income men. With funding, I know that I can enhance my business in multiple ways.
First off, I can expand my business faster. I’m at a pivotal point where lack of money is holding my company back from making a sizable profit. Pave funds will allow original SKINNYFATTIES necktie designs to be sold in retail stores worldwide. Everything is in the right place to grow, and Pave backers can see that it happens.
1 Founded SKINNYFATTIES, which specializes in tailoring and designing neckties.
2 In its first start-up year, SKINNYFATTIES grossed nearly $25,000 in sales.
3 Volunteered more than 3,500 hours with City Year Chicago & Los Angeles.
4 Ran a half-marathon (working towards a full one!)
In July 2012, I found myself unemployed and short of change to buy new interview clothing, so I turned to my closet and got creative. It wasn't long before I mastered the craft of tailoring wide neckties. I trusted my gut, scrapped the interview schedule and began marketing SKINNYFATTIES to the world.
I want to go global, raising more money for our charity partner that empowers men who are low-income to overcome barriers and achieve self-sufficiency.
My vehicle for change is ties.

Most incredible experience in my life. Helped me realize the power that I had to make a difference. Also, this business has helped me learn when to say "yes" and "no", which is the most valuable lesson you can learn.
Started this business with a few friends. Was featured in the NY Times and Time Out New York. My job was to develop the relationship with our charity partner and incorporate it into the business model.
Photo representative agency. My first full-time decent salaried position.
An amazing internship where I learned the value of networking.
Right after high school ended in Ohio, I moved to Chicago to work with this community service organization. A year later, I moved to Los Angeles to help found the organization there. This incredible experience is what shaped my passion for uniting charity with consumerism.
