Pave’s annual Total Rewards Live conference, held on September 9 and 10, brought hundreds of compensation community members together to discuss today’s most pressing topics—from a renaissance in equity plan design to pay-for-performance to the impact of AI on the workforce. Overall, TRL 2025 was a showcase for some of the brightest minds in the industry to share their knowledge and forward-looking perspectives with others.

Naturally, TRL also served as an opportunity for Pave to share our bold vision for compensation intelligence with clients and partners. Now, we’re excited to share our big news with all of you.

Introducing PaveOS

Pave can do a lot for compensation and total rewards professionals, but to keep things simple, you should now think of Pave as your complete operating system for all things compensation. With PaveOS, you can benchmark pay in real-time, price jobs, manage pay ranges, run merit cycles, and communicate total rewards to employees and candidates alike.

PaveOS will help you and your company eliminate stale compensation surveys, disconnected point solutions, and spreadsheet-based workflows. Imagine, one end-to-end compensation operating system that accomplishes every big job on your to-do list.

Market Data Enhancements

The first pillar of PaveOS is our Market Data product, which was significantly enhanced in July. Key updates include upgraded AI-powered job matching, new industry and company demographic filters, an updated job catalog with 200+ job families (including five distinct AI/ML roles), and much more. With these features, you’ll be ready to answer any benchmarking question that comes your way.

Today, Pave’s real-time compensation dataset includes information from 8,300-plus companies, including 32 of the Forbes AI 50 and hundreds of large late-stage private and public firms. Additionally, our Market Data Pro offering includes burn rate benchmarks, unvested equity benchmarks, equity design insights, and geographic differentials.

AI-powered Auto-Smoothing Comes to Market Pricing

Once you have relevant, real-time compensation data, you’ll need to refresh your pay ranges. However, a large repricing project can take weeks to complete. Fortunately, with Market Pricing in PaveOS, you can now do this work minutes. Yes, minutes! This is all thanks to two new features: AI-powered Auto-Smoothing and Band Editor.

Auto-Smoothing cleans up gaps and rollercoasters in your data and automatically updates proposed salary ranges. This powerful AI functionality detects outliers, generates additional data points using geo-differentials, and completes advanced regression models, so you don’t have to choose between relevance and coverage. Auto-Smoothing even provides confidence scoring based on statistical significance, so you can easily identify any areas you might want to double check.

Band Editor is another powerful new feature that gives you a bird’s-eye view of which ranges to spend extra time on, including visualizations of your ranges compared to both your incumbents and market data. You’ll see whether your employees are in a healthy position in the range or if they are starting to lag the market. You can then test changes like shifting midpoints to the market, smoothing level progressions that don’t look right, and correcting compa ratios below the minimum. Overall, Band Editor helps you focus your updates (and dollars) where they matter most, quickly making defensible decisions in line with your people, the market, and strategic priorities.

Accelerate Compensation Planning with Priority Talent Review

We also announced exciting updates to the Compensation Planning module of PaveOS, with a focus on mid-cycle analytics that help compensation professionals run cycles more effectively.

First, Compensation Planning now does more to empower people managers with the information they need. “Is my team member paid below the band?” “Does my team member have a low compa ratio?” “Do they have an approaching equity cliff?” Our models can tell you all of this and more. Using the Smart Flags feature, Compensation Planning offers structured intelligence that tells people managers everything they need to know when it comes to potential compensation pitfalls.

But it gets better. The Priority Talent Review feature, powered by Pave AI, rolls up all of this information into a streamlined assessment of where people managers need to focus first. They can quickly and easily identify the key talent that matters, diagnose the problem, and make smarter budget and pay decisions.

Communicating Employee Equity in Team View

Communicating compensation is vitally important, which is why we also launched updates to our equity modeling and communication tools in the Team View module of PaveOS.

There’s a lot of context about compensation that lives in different, often siloed, systems: HRIS, cap table or EMS, spreadsheets from past cycles. Team View brings it all together and acts as the system of record for every people leader. Managers can see all the employees within their scope, along with those individuals’ entire compensation history. When it comes to equity, the visuals within Team View allow any people leader or manager to understand the real and potential equity values of an employee’s equity situation, all in one place.

This emphasis on employee equity also carries over into the latest updates to the Total Rewards Portal and Visual Offer Letter products in PaveOS. Making equity information available for employees helps them understand how much money they may be leaving on the table if they were to leave. With Pave’s visualizations, they can easily see their unvested equity value, go deeper into specific grants, or model the future.

It’s all designed to help you celebrate every monthly vest and every biweekly paycheck, and leverage these moments to highlight how well you take care of your team.
